I am having some repairs carried out on my 331 Davit’s and rear bathing platform and ladder. The local (non yacht) steel yard would like to cut out a piece in order to repair but cannot determine wether they are Stainless Steel or Chromed….makes a significant difference to work and price. Can’t phone Nauticat anymore so I am asking the forum to shed any light on whether the bright work is stainless steel or chromed. Thanks.

    Hi Sam.

It will be stainless steel. If you want to confirm, see if it is magnetic. If stainless, the magnet won’t stick.

    Best wishes Piers
