    Hello all,

I purchased a 1984 Nauticat 43 that had all the stays mostly completely loose when I purchased it. I am unable to find a professional rigger around me I have tried countless times. Also, none of the paperwork that came with the boat has any information on how to tune the rig. Does anyone know a fairly simple way I can get the tensions right enough for average cruising?

Thanks in advance, this has been a huge thorn in my side.

    Hi Kyle,
Can’t help you with any rig tensioning devices but I know they are on the market. We had our 385 rerigged in 2020, the rigger set it up bar tight, virtually no flex whatsoever, I thought it was to allow for some stretch but it has remained bar tight for the past four years. Our mast is deck stepped were as I guess yours is keel stepped but I’m guessing the rig should be set with very little flex. Hope this helps.
