    hi all

Due to my keel leaking and rotting my water tanks from the outside in (they sit on top of the keel), I have to drop the keel to reseal. To do this I have to remove the engine as well. So I am going to replace the engine with a recon unit from Hendy with Bowman cooling, refurb the Borg Warner gearbox, and also replace the fuel tanks: the NC 43 has two of approx 550 litres each port and starboard in the engine room. I will replace with Tek Tanks (same as the water tanks). I know that this has been done by at least one other owner as Tek tanks have the patterns. I think that the last but one owners of Delphini that was brought back from Sardinia had the work done in Trafalgar Wharf but I have struggled to track down who did the work. If anyone has any thoughts on this or knows any NC43 owners I would be grateful as we are few and any knowledge shared would be great. I have almost totally refurbished my boat now and have a lot of knowledge about construction and systems. Veli at Nauticat has been really helpful but obviously he has less experience with older boats…

Also spoiling myself and fitting a new 6kva genny, AIr con throughout and a 240v/12v water maker…

Planning to head off the the Baltic.
