Well living in the West Country I could name every port in my area as a favorite but The outstanding port for me is Castletownsend Southern Ireland.  Here are a few pics to give you some idea as to why.

Imagine a mini Salcombe totally without any commercialism, not even a mooring charge 🙂
Just one shop just like Arkrights as in “Open All Hours” 🙂 and one pub but what a pub. For those who like Guinness you need not look further. 🙂

First pic, A tiny village but plenty of room in a very safe free anchorage.

Second pic. So similar to Salcombe, this view looking off the beach out towards the entrance of the bay.

Third pic, the towns only pub “Mary Anns” The best “Sticky Toffee Pudding” in the world 🙂
