Please bear in mind that almost nothing will move the boats rudder while the hydraulics are connected. If the boat is ashore try pushing the rudder – it will not move! It would be possible to disconnect the two hydraulic rams – then the rudder would be free to move – but I suggest that it is not wise to do this.
The only system that maintains the integrity of the yacht is a transom hung auxiliary rudder.
