I have only visited Dunstaffnage for fuel (good value and helpful service) and shopping at Alba Sailing Chandlery. When I was seeking a base for the two winters and one season I kept Wild Cat in those waters (2017-2019) I considered Dunstaffnage but chose to go for a more economical alternative. Wild Cat ended up at Creran Marine in Loch Creran – a bit further up the coast. Slightly less accessible and, of course, swing mooring with winter storage ashore. I found the proprietor of this family business very helpful and whilst it isn’t as convenient as a marina we found it quite satisfactory.
We also stayed over at Oban Marina on Kerrera Island and found it satisfactory including work done for mus by visiting engineer. The shower and toilet facilities at Kerrera could do with upgrading.
