Here my input, although, touch wood, I not suffered fouling fishing gear I have had some very near misses.
In and around Weymouth Bay there are numerous pots marked with small floats of various shapes & sizes, very few have flag markers. There are some very close the the approaches to the harbour, approachingin the dark is risky. Ringstead bay is littered with strings of bouys which are difficult to in any swell, and Newton Cove, to the s.west of the harbour entrance, has lots of bouys.
Further away off the east coast, off the Naze, Walton, lots of poorly marked pots. Made made very ‘interesting’ as strong tides drags the bouys under.
